Window Cleaning Estimate Sheet

Contractors License #841230

How We Do It: To clean glass, we use genuine
(the inventor and patent holder of the modern day squeegee) cleaning products. We wet and scrub the window, mirror or skylight with bio-degradable cleaning solution using a strip-washer.
The solution we use is ammonia-free and safe to use on tinted windows and vinyl skylights. Paint-overspray, construction debris or stickers are removed with a professional scraper
which is markedly different from the common razor blade. Finally, the window is dried with a squeegee and any drips or water accumulation around the edges are finished with a towel.
To clean the window tracks, we first loosen the dirt with a stiff brush and then vacuum out all the loose debris. Any remaining dirt is removed with a damp towel. With the majority of today’s windows being vinyl, after years of use the tracks begin so show wear marks from the window being opened and closed. These marks should not be confused as dirt and cannot be removed. As we like to say, we can’t get the tracks looking new again, but we can get them clean by removing the dirt and dead bugs.
Screens and sun screens (if applicable) are removed, washed with soap and water, rinsed and re-installed. We do not just wipe the screens with a dry towel. Our crew is very experienced at removing the most stubborn of screens thus reducing the risk of kinking the metal frames. But, occasionally, a screen does get bent and our policy is to replace it at our expense. In an average year we repair or replace about six screens.
Water-spot removal: We have several methods for removing stubborn water spots that won’t come off with a regular cleaning. Please contact us for more details.
So, I want to get my windows cleaned, what next?
The process begins with a call to our office. We will ask you a series of questions about your house and windows, and from there we give you a ballpark estimate.
If you choose to make an appointment, one of our technicians will come to your house and give you a firm price. With your authorization he/she will perform the work you request in the same visit. See Window Cleaning Pricing for additional information.

Pricing:
Residential - This PDF file contains a list of questions we ask when giving a phone-estimate. Using this list, we can almost always estimate the cost of cleaning your windows within 10% or less over the phone. Often, the actual cost is less than the phone-estimate due to our rounding up to cover any missed windows and to eliminate any surprises when we come out. No reputable company can give you a firm price over the phone before they see the job, so beware of those who do. Bait-and-switch tactics are not part of the way we do business. It is common to hear that other window cleaners give a phone estimate that excludes track cleaning and covers only wiping screens with a dry rag as opposed to washing with soap and water.
Commercial: Due to the varied nature of commercial buildings and storefronts, we will visit the property to do a detailed estimate. We strive to have an estimate faxed to you within 48 hours of calling in.
1. 1” and 2” Aluminum/Vinyl/Faux Wood – To clean this type of blind, we take it down and outside the house. We usually bring a trailer like the one pictured here to your house or business and hang the blinds for cleaning and drying. Each blind is scrubbed by hand with water and cleaning solution while the blind is mounted on the trailer. Once dry, we re-hang the blind. Depending on the quantity, some of our trucks are specially outfitted to clean blinds without the need for a trailer.
2. 2” Wood – If the blind is real wood, or a product that contains a real wood component we cannot get those wet, so they are cleaned in-place. Depending on how dirty they are, we may vacuum wood blinds first, and then we wipe down each slat, one at a time, by hand. The strings with this method do not get cleaned, but the general appearance is greatly improved.

Pricing:
The cost to clean blinds is based on the width of the slats:
We generally charge the same price regardless of length or width unless there are a disproportionate number of blinds over 5 feet wide or 5 feet long. If you are having windows cleaned at the same time, we offer a package discount for window and blind cleaning done at the same visit.
Rain gutters are cleaned by removing and bagging all debris in the gutters. We do not simply “blast” out the gutters with a hose and allow the debris to fall on the ground. Once the gutters are free of debris, we run water through them to ensure the downspouts are free flowing. Any clogs in the downspouts are removed.
At your request, we can also blow-off the roof if it is covered with leaves.
Pricing:
The cost of gutter cleaning is based on lineal feet of gutter and the number of stories of the house. When you call us, we have an estimate program that can estimate the lineal feet based on the number of stories and square footage of your house. Over time, we have perfected our program so that it is extremely accurate and the actual cost is usually the same or below the phone estimate.
We offer a permanent solution to gutter cleaning which is an alternative to gutter screens or extruded metal covers. Our solution is a product called:

Instead of covering the gutter to prevent debris from entering, Gutter Stuff fills the gutter with synthetic foam so that nothing but water can get in. Leaves and debris land on top and blow away while water runs straight through. Other benefits include:

Pricing:
Gutter stuff is priced by the foot and based on the width and depth of your gutters. It ranges from $5 to $8 per foot including installation. In order to give you an exact price, we need to come out and get exact measurements of your gutters. In addition, you gutters must be clean before an installation of Gutter Stuff can be made. If you have had Squeaky Clean clean your gutters within the last 30 days, we will clean them again at no charge.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) estimates that 15,500 house fires associated with clothes dryers occur annually. These fires account for an average of 10 deaths and 310 injuries and more than $84.4 million in property damage annually.
Part of routine annual home maintenance should include cleaning your dryer vent. Many people are unaware of the dangers that lint accumulation in the dryer duct presents, but dryer-vent fires are a leading cause of house fires in the United States. In addition, a dirty dryer vent leads to longer drying times, increased energy usage and a shortened dryer life. Many customers call us after purchasing a new dryer what won’t dry. Slow or no drying often is often not the machine’s fault especially if your dryer vents to the roof.

How to tell if your dryer vent needs cleaning:
You can read more about dryer vent safety in this US Consumer Product Safety Commission report www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/pubs/5022.html and the Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. Product Safety Tips www.ul.com/consumers/dryers.html.
Pricing:
The cost to clean the average dryer vent is $95 but can vary from $70 to $145 depending on the length of the run and where it exits the house – either on the side or the roof. About 90% of the dryer vent cleanings we do are $95, but when done at the same visit as window or gutter cleaning we often run specials. Be sure ask us about packages and discounts.
A properly installed and maintained air duct system may never need cleaning. However, under certain circumstances a duct cleaning may be beneficial and improve the indoor air quality. Examples include:
1. While homes are under construction, especially fast-tract homes, adequate steps are not taken to protect the duct system from construction debris such as sawdust, drywall dust and paint overspray. These contaminates remain in the system and are slowly released into the air stream.
2. Countless authorities, including energy companies, recommend changing furnace filters at least every three months if not more often. However, most people forget about changing their filter for long periods of time. Not only does this cause the system to work harder and inefficiently, it allows the dirt and contaminates to get by around the filter (the path of least resistance) and contaminate the duct system.
3. After a fire, after any remodel project or after interior painting unless the painting contractor seals off all registers during the process.
You can easily tell if your air ducts are dirty. Simply remove any of the supply registers (the vents where air comes out), reach inside as far as you can, and wipe with white rag. If you are comfortable with the appearance, you probably don’t need to have your air ducts cleaned. We also can inspect deep inside your system with a remote camera.
Often the best remedy for improving your indoor air quality is changing your furnace filter regularly using a top-rated filter. There are big differences in filters and what they can trap out of the air. As with most things, you get what you pay for. A $20 filter offers better air quality, longer system life and less energy usage compared with less-expensive filters changed infrequently.
If you do decide to have your air ducts cleaned, we can provide you an estimate over the phone. We use the Rotobrush® system which we feel is the best and safest method on the market. This system agitates the dirt on the walls of the duct, and removes it at the point of contact with a high power High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) vacuum. We do NOT put your entire system under a vacuum as with less expensive more common methods for 2 reasons: 1) Residential air duct systems were not designed to be placed under a vacuum and 2) The joints in the duct system are usually taped and putting the system under a vacuum can easily break the taped seals leading to air leakage.
We also clean the supply and return registers, clean the air handler and finish by atomizing EnviroCon™ into the system. Once your air duct system is clean, it is important to change your air filters on a regular basis to keep the system clean.
